TOPPS BUYBACK HAS LANDED AT SCD

TOPPS BUYBACK HAS LANDED AT SCD

And now your cards could be worth store credit. For the first time, the Topps Buyback Programme has properly landed in the UK – and Sports Cards Direct is officially registered as a participating partner.

That means we’re now accepting eligible cards across the NFL MVP, WWE Championship and Premier League Golden Boot buyback programmes.

So if you’ve been ripping Topps Chrome, it might be time to check your stacks. Because the right base card, refractor or numbered parallel could be worth more than you think.

WHAT IS TOPPS BUYBACK?

Topps Buyback is a simple idea, well established within the US hobby scene, but now making its long-awaited debut in the UK.

Topps selects certain cards from certain products and gives them a fixed store credit value. If you pull an eligible card, you can bring it in-store or post it to a participating store – like us – and trade it in for store credit. That’s right, a simple base card now becomes a ticket to getting back into the game.

No grading needed.
No waiting for comps.
No guessing what it might be worth.

Just eligible cards turned into SCD store credit.

WHY THIS IS BIG NEWS FOR THE UK HOBBY

We’ve watched buyback programmes happen elsewhere for years. But now, it’s our turn. This is the first time Topps Buyback has hit the UK in this way, and it gives collectors a much more connected hobby experience.

It makes ripping more interactive.
It links to real sporting results, making seasons matter more.
It brings local hobby shops into the action.

And it rewards collectors who pay attention.

Because buyback isn’t just about pulling monsters. It’s about knowing which cards to keep, which players to watch, and which moments could turn into credit.

Let’s break down the sleepers in your collection, just waiting to turn into store credit.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

Here at Sports Cards Direct, we’ve partnered with Topps as an authorised partner both in-store and online. Here’s a look at the cards we’re accepting, and what they are worth.

🏈 NFL MVP BUYBACK

Topps is already making waves with its first release under the new NFL licence, and now there are even more reasons to get involved. The NFL MVP Buyback Programme is centred on last season's MVP, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford.

So if you’ve pulled a Matthew Stafford card from 2025 Topps Chrome Football, keep reading to see how much your card is worth.

Base cards, refractors, numbered parallels – they all matter.

Non-auto Matthew Stafford cards can be redeemed for:

Base Cards - £15 Store Credit
Non-numbered Refractors - £30 Store Credit
Numbered > /100 - £75 Store Credit
Numbered < /100 - £150 Store Credit

The deadline for submissions is 1st August 2026, so get hunting before you miss out.

⭐ WWE CHAMPIONSHIP BUYBACK

Buyback enters the ring with the WWE Championship Buyback Programme. Cards of WrestleMania 42 champions Liv Morgan and Roman Reigns are now worth store credit. A fitting celebration of the champions of the ring.

If you’ve been ripping Topps Chrome WWE, check your Roman and Liv cards carefully. Eligible WWE Buyback cards can be redeemed for:

Base Cards - £15 Store Credit
Non-numbered Refractors - £30 Store Credit
Numbered > /100 - £75 Store Credit
Numbered < /100 - £150 Store Credit

You don’t have long with this one, so make sure you redeem your eligible cards by 4th July.

⚽ PREMIER LEAGUE GOLDEN BOOT BUYBACK

This might be the most exciting one for UK collectors. The Premier League Golden Boot Buyback is tied to the official 2025/26 Premier League top goal scorer.

So while the season plays out, every goal matters. Every hot streak, every penalty taker, every final-day twist could have an impact.

Once the Golden Boot winner is confirmed, that player’s eligible cards become the ones to submit. Eligible Golden Boot Buyback cards can be redeemed for:

Base Cards - £15 Store Credit
Non-numbered Refractors - £30 Store Credit
Numbered > /100 - £75 Store Credit
Numbered < /100 - £150 Store Credit

If the Golden Boot is shared, eligible cards of all tied winners will qualify. So the only question is, who’s going to win?

DO THE CARDS NEED TO BE PERFECT?

No – they don’t need to be gem mint to be eligible. They do, however, need to be complete, genuine and in acceptable condition. Ripped, altered or heavily damaged cards will not be accepted.

So if you pull an eligible name, sleeve it. Topload it. Keep it safe. Future you might just thank you.

IS IT CASH?

Topps Buyback redemptions are for store credit only. When you redeem with SCD, you’ll receive store credit based on the official value of your eligible card. Which, let’s be honest, probably means one thing: more cards. What’s not to love?

READY TO REDEEM?

If you’ve got eligible cards, bring them in-store or follow the submission details on our buyback pages for instructions on how to mail in your cards.

We’ll check the card, confirm eligibility, and issue the correct SCD store credit to your account.

It’s that simple.

So check your stacks. Watch the storylines. Protect the right cards.

Because Topps Buyback is here in the UK.

And the chase? Well, it just got better.
