Our in-house creative team is sharp, fast, and always experimenting. Campaigns drop weekly. Features evolve fast. We’ve outgrown relying on external devs, so now, we’re bringing development in-house.

The Role

You’ll be the go-to for all things development. Your focus? Building the tools, features, and infrastructure needed to support our Shopify Plus store.

The role is a predominantly business system / backend focused dev role, but there will be occasional crossover to frontend development to help support our Shopify Plus store as and when required. You will be instrumental in setting up our in-house development team with room to shape, streamline, and grow the function, influencing tech choices along the way.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Create API integrations with external systems (CRM, stock, shipping tools, etc.)
• Build greenfield, custom systems to support our warehousing / shipping function.
• Work with our front-end dev to support and evolve our Shopify Plus store using Liquid, JavaScript, HTML/CSS
• Collaborate with in-house stakeholders to design, develop and implement small business systems.
• Work with our business to identify process-automation opportunities and manage the full project lifecycle.

Projects You’ll Jump Into

• Design and build an Internal Systems to improve work flow.
• Set up CI / CD pipelines to support Frontend and Backend system / web deployments and other Devops duties.
• Develop ecom app

Essential Skills

• Server-side scripting such as C# .NET Core 6+ (preferable) or NodeJS
• Proven ability to build and integrate RESTful APIs effectively
• Track record of designing and developing business system databases using SQL, MySQL, and NoSQL technologies
• Using ORM frameworks, such as Dapper or Entity Framework for .NET, and TypeORM or Prisma for NodeJS
• Practical understanding of software design principles (e.g., SOLID) and design patterns, including Dependency Injection and Factory Pattern
• Experience in implementing unit and integration tests for business logic
• Vanilla JavaScript, HTML and CSS
• Set up and use of GIT-based version control and CI / CD pipelines (Devops, GitHub Actions)
• Proficient in using task management tools such as JIRA or Azure Devops
• A Proactive, self-managing, fast problem solver who is comfortable prioritising high-impact work
• A minimum of 4+ years of commercial development experience is a must

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Shopify Plus development experience is a must
• Familiarity with frontend build tools such as Webpack or Vite, plus experience of NPM / Node
• Used Azure Functions, AWS Lambda or .NET Web APIs
• SCSS / SASS skills
• Typescript, React or Flutter experience
• Understanding of cross-browser development and testing, including the use of tools such as BrowserStack
• A passion for trading cards (or at least get the hype)

The Details

• Starting salary from £45000 depending on experience
• Full setup provided, dual monitors, high-spec machine, any tools you need
• This is a full-time, office-based role at our Headquarters in Plymouth
